Big labor activists are pressuring Rep. Shelly Moore Capito to support the card-check bill. The Charleston Gazette reports that Capito has “not yet pledged her support to the legislation.”
West Virginia readers and any other American who cares about workers’ rights should let Capito know the importance of protecting workplace democracy and voting AGAINST H.R. 800, the Card Check Forced-Unionism Bill. You can contact her office at (202) 225-2711.

I talked to Kay Hagan’ office today and “she will not vote for cloture”.
Numerous emails to VA. Senator’s Webb and Warner. Both are Dem’s who have supported the union agenda consistently. VA is a right to work state – this bill, if passed, would be a door opener for the Dem’s to push for the union shop. Warner is always wanting to “level the playing field”, in favor of big labor of course. Another illegal Federal mandate which oversteps the Constitution.
Just called Senator Lieberman and Dodd’s offices. Fat chance they’ll do what we want them to do; too arrogant for that. And too beholding to their party bosses and the labor unions. It is my hope the senators from around the country are prevailed upon to do the right thing: NO MORE taxpayer support for labor unions. I told our senators to get focused on what WE wnat them to do: pass a Federal budget with the House and renew the Bush tax cuts for all Americans. And save us from your party’s class warfare rhetoric, while you’re at it.
Contact with Cantwell and Murray no matter what the method is pointless, but I do it anyway. Both are die-hard socialist, both are proud sponsors of everything on Obama agenda.
My most recent emails:
A vote for big labor is a vote against the Republic and the American people. Such a vote will ultimately destroy what little of the economy is left.
Governments only role in the economy is as an expense. The economy can only survive and grow so long as the income exceeds the expense. Government expense already exceeds the private sectors ability to create income.
Unionization of police and fire will bankrupt every city in America just like it already has in parts of California. It will do nothing more than create another government entity like the over paid, over staffed, under worked Postal Service.
You need to remember that deductions from your government paycheck does not mean that you pay taxes. I just means that you get less tax revenue for your pay.
Every new government employee means more expense and less tax revenue from the private sector.
SOCIALISM IS A CANCER that destroys the incentive to work and always results in economic failure.

Your email connection to stop cloture vote did not work.
Hey Mark,
I called Senator Webb’s office and his staff acted dumb. The bottom line to me that this crook apparently going to vote for this union bill! I warned them if he did he will definitely be gone come 2012. For the record folks, you can call any Senator in the US office. All you need to have is a city and a zip code for them to take down your reply. The liberals do it all the time so why can’t we? So, don’t just limit your calls to your senators! DON’T HESITATE, JUST DO IT! God bless all of your patriotic Americans who are getting in the game and not sitting on the sidelines. There are so many Americans upset with what’s going on but, not willing to take a little time out of their day to do something about it!
Hey Mark,
I called Senator Hagan’s office and nailed the staff member about the Senator trying to pull a trick on us and was assured that the Senator is going to VOTE NO TO CLOTURE! Thanks for your hard work!
Be blessed,

Dear Mr. Mix,
FYI – Senator Schumer is not accepting emails.
How appropriate.

Hope my call to my senators was in time to effect the bill S3991.
Already sent emails to both Senators. They appear to support the labor bill. I told Mark Warner I would contribute to his next opponent. The other Senator (Webb) is even in more imminent danger of being a one-term Senator. He’s sorta laying low.

In case Harry Rein is awake and out of his trance. ” Harry, You know darn well this bill 3194 is wrong, Why push it for a vote when you know it will haunt you for years to come” The American people are not as forgetful as you might hope.
Be a man and vote against this public monster.

I called Senator Hagan’s office and was told she was against cloture and agaist the bill. The Fireman/policeman forced union bill you wrote about.

P.s,
I just got an e-mail from Karl Rove chewing me out for defending Sarah Palin against the “Blue Bloods” I informed him that the republicans were working a back door deal on amnesty. He told me to stay a democrat and I told him I planned to switch to independent. That the Rep & dems were about the same. I critized the rnc for not supporting O’Donnell and Miller. I also informed him that in my 50 years of voting I have never voted for a democrat for president or senate.
I got the same response letter from Kay Hagan as TTanner. If your post is true, then she is lying in her response.
I called Sen Hagan’s office since I take care of some policemen and they
don’t like this bill inNC. Her office said she opposed the bill.??? We’ll see.
Well,I knew it would “NOT” last long! The GOP has Caved, again! Rangel should have gone to Prison!
I have contacted 3 of Oregons reps in congress about many issues, & although 2 of them respond, Wyden never does. DeFazio, responds, & sometimes can be swayed, however Wyden & Merkley always go along with Reid, Pelosi, & the Illegal in the Presidents Office. I have finally given up on contacting these two treasonests. Some of these Democrats are so stupid, they will never change.
This is what I got from her yesterday and now I see her on Youtube:

I wrote to Bill Nelson (FL) office and got this reply. Somewhat different than the NRTWC’s view.
Dear Mr. Scarritt:
Thank you for contacting me regarding S. 3194, the Public Safety Employer-Employee Cooperation Act of 2009.
This legislation would provide collective bargaining rights for public safety officers employed by States or local governments by granting the right to form and join labor organizations that exclude management and supervisory employees.
In order to ensure public safety, this bill prohibits public safety employers, employees, and labor organizations from engaging in lockouts or strikes. It does not infringe on any existing Right-to-Work laws. Today, 21 States, including Florida, have implemented varying forms of these laws, which ensure employees cannot be denied work because of membership or nonmembership in any labor organization.
This bill is awaiting a vote in the Senate. I appreciate your informed opinion, and I will be sure to keep your views in mind. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future.
Sincerely,
Senator Bill Nelson
Rebuttal by NRTWC welcomed.

mark i contacted my senater in pa about the union check bill .
Here is my Reply from Senator Hagan after I asked her to Oppose Bills S.3194 and S. 3991. I was happy to get a positive reply from her for a change.

Dear Friend,
Thank you for contacting me regarding the Public Safety Employer-Employee Cooperation Act (PSEECA). I greatly appreciate hearing your thoughts on this important issue.
The Public Safety Employer-Employee Cooperation Act of 2009 (S.3194) was introduced in the Senate on April 12, 2010. The bill was also proposed as an amendment to the Supplemental Appropriations Act (H.R. 4899). However, the Senate voted to remove the additional spending provisions, including the PSEECA, from the House version of H.R. 4899.
PSEECA would require states to comply with federal collective bargaining regulations for public safety employees if the state does not provide its own collective bargaining rights for these employees. Public safety officers, such as firefighters and police officers, would have the right to form and join a labor union, and public employers, such as city governments, would be required to bargain with these organizations. Certain states already have collective bargaining laws for public safety employees, but these laws vary. North Carolina’s current law effectively prohibits collective bargaining by voiding any contract negotiated between a public employer and a union.
While I support the principle of allowing employees to have a voice in their workplace, this legislation would mandate, from the federal level, that states allow collective bargaining for public employees. This is a state issue, and I believe it should be left up to the individual states to decide what system works best for them.
Again, thank you for contacting my office. It is truly an honor to represent North Carolina in the United States Senate, and I hope you will not hesitate to contact me in the future should you have any further questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Kay R. Hagan

I have sent emails to both Florida Senators asking for a “NO” vote plus voting on Steve Forbes email
I unsubscribed as I was getting same information through others.
I can’t keep up with all. Keep up the good work.
I did call Reid – phone switched off

Re: S – 3194 Not to vote for and not to attach to anything else, regarding Police and Firefighters Monopoly Bargaining Bill S 3194.
It is against the wiishes of the American people your employers and we don’t owe the Unions anything. /
I just called Illinois Senator Kirk’s office and gave his Aid my views on this subject—about it not being right to attach it to an unrelated war funding bill. I also objected to Reid bringing this up in a lame duck session. I also told him that our communities could not afford what this bill would impose. His Aid was very cordial, addressed me by name, and told me he would be happy to pass on my thoughts to Sen. Kirk (R).
I did NOT try to call Sen. Durbin (D) who, let’s face it, is a lost cause.
Senator McCaskill’s Washington phone was so busy they could not answer all the calls. I waited to leave a message on their voice mail, but the mailbox was full. I called her local office and left a message. It sounds like Right-to-Work supporters are making their calls.

Senator,
I ask you not to support the Police and Firefighter Bill S 3194. No liberal would support any legislation that forces any citizen into any group or association just to maintain a job to support their family.
I believe this bill, S 3194, has many areas of serious concern including violating the ‘contract clause’ of the US Constitution.
Again, please vote against the Police and Firefighter Bill S 3194 on all votes, including cloture.
Yours truly,
August Lightfoot
