The National Right to Work Committee® is a coalition of 2.2 million American citizens united by one belief:

No one should be forced to pay tribute to a union in order to get or keep a job.

These citizens agree that Federal labor law should not promote coercive union power, and support the protection and enactment of additional state Right to Work laws until the federal sanction for compulsory unionism is eliminated.

We at the National Right to Work Committee are fighting at many levels to protect America's working men and women's right to decide for themselves whether or not a union deserves their financial support.

Whether it be in the state and federal legislatures, the courts, or hearing rooms at the FEC or the NLRB, we fight to ensure that workers join unions because they want to -- not out of fear or federal mandate.

Detroit Bailout — More than Meets the Eye

Friday, November 14th, 2008

House Democrat leaders are pushing for another bailout of American car manufacturers. $25 billion in loans have already been approved and Sen. Debbie Stabenow is looking for another $25 billion more.

Of course, the loans would come with no strings attached meaning that the taxpayers’ monies would finance and underwrite existing United Auto Workers (UAW) contracts that are the cause of much of the recent difficulties. The Wall Street Journal notes that these contracts even pay workers not to work.

American automobile dealers need fundamental reform, not a handout from the taxpayers. Any reform package must include giving the American auto worker the ability to exercise his/her Right to Work. Don’t hold your breathe — especially with the band of Big Labor supporters currently running Washington, DC.

Mob Actions under the Union Banner

Monday, July 14th, 2008

An article by Ralph R. Reiland of the American Spectator, on “Sharks and Unions,” mentioned a recent “illegal” march by the UAW in Atlantic City, NJ. I understand that Big Labor Bosses would like absolute acquiescence to their each and every demand, but not through the actions of a mob.

The Press of Atlantic City had photos of an estimated 3,000 union supporters marching down Pacific Avenue, the main drag in Atlantic City — illegally, i.e., without a permit — shouting “Negotiate” in support of casino dealers being unionized by the United Automobile Workers.

Vowing that “we’re gonna shut this town down,” Roy Foster, president of the Atlantic-Cape May County AFL-CIO Central Labor Council, yelled “Let’s get ready to rumble” to the protesters before they headed down the street. “I say today it’s an eye for eye.”

Stopping in front of Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino, the protesters shouted: “Donald Trump, negotiate! Whose city? Our city! No justice, no peace!”

UAW Charged with Embezzlement

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

In Wilmington, Delaware, “[t]he financial secretary of the United Auto Workers local 1516 in Middletown has been indicted by a federal grand jury on 12 embezzlement charges. According to prosecutors, Stephen Priest stole over $97,800 from the union that represents 200 employees at Johnson Controls for personal use between Sept. 2005 and May 2006,” Delaware Online reports.
